On March 08, 2020, her brother posted a heartbreaking video on Facebook where he asked for help in order to find a funeral home for deceased Teresa. She started to develop symptoms of COVID-19 in the first week of March 2020.
A week later, she died because of the illness as Franzese didn’t receive proper medication and treatment. In the viral video, she was seen lying on the bed in the background. As of March 13, 2020, Luca’s video received almost 10 million views.

The actor suggested health officials test him if he is a Corona virus-positive or not. But they refused to do so and told him that they need to test his sister first. After the result, it was revealed that the main cause of Teresa Franzese’s death was COVID-19.
Her sibling told in the viral video that he is trapped in their home in Naples, Italy. Teresa’s decaying body is also trapped with him. In addition, the actor said in the clip that he is waiting for the institutions to give him answers since last night.
The actor was unable to locate a funeral home for Teresa Franzese. After the post went viral on the internet, a local politician intervened in the situation and found a burial spot for Teresa at the Aprea Funeral Home.
