Ramsarni Mehra Kapoor (born 25 December 1908) was the eldest member of the Kapoor family of Bollywood industry from India. She is known in the country as the spouse of a famous 90’s movie director named “Prithviraj Kapoor”.
She is the mother of popular artists of Hindi cinemas named “Raj Kapoor”, “Shammi Kapoor”, and “Shashi Kapoor”. Ramsarni’s hubby was the first person in the Kapoor family who stepped into the cinema world or we can say, Prithviraj was the pioneer of the film industry and theatre.

Later, she moved to Mumbai along with her spouse and kids. In the year 1930, her son Devi passed away at a very early age because of double-pneumonia. After a few days of Devi’s death, Ramsarni’s other son Ravinder also died because he swallowed the poison pills by mistake.
She was shocked by the death of two children in the same month. after one year, the couple blessed with a son named “Shammi Kapoor” on 21 October 1931. In 1935, a beautiful daughter “Urmila Sial Kapoor” was born in her home.
