Gita Ramjee (born in 1970) was a South African scientist, professor, and researcher from India. She was a great scientist and researcher. Gita was researching the project, which helps to end the HIV pandemic. She worked in an NPO AIDS/Tuberculosis research organization named “Aurum Institute” as Chief Scientific Officer. Apart from this, she also served the position of director of a research unit named “South African Medical Research Council”.

Famous Indian-born virologist Gita Ramjee, who lives in South Africa, died on 31 March 2020 because of coronavirus infection. She was 50 years old at the time of death. Gita returned from London only a few days ago. The chairperson of the South African Medical Research Council (SAMRC) has claimed that Gita has been infected.
However, his medical report is yet to come. She is the first Indian native of South Africa to lose her life from this epidemic. Gita Ramjee was a vaccine scientist as well as head of HIV prevention research. So far, 5 deaths have occurred due to Kovid-19 in South Africa.
