Early Life and Education
Jefferson was born on April 7, 1970 in Houston, Texas. He was the son of Lovie Jefferson and the late Reverend Edward Jefferson. He had a sister named Comalitha Mathews and a nephew named Nico Mathews. He grew up in a religious family and was active in his father’s church.

Career
Jefferson began his professional career in 1995 with a small role in the comedy-drama film Boys on the Side, directed by Herbert Ross. He then moved to Los Angeles to pursue more opportunities in the entertainment industry. He worked as an actor, producer, voiceover artist and acting coach for various projects.

Jefferson passed away on October 4, 2023 at the age of 53. The cause of death was not disclosed by his family or representatives. Foxx paid tribute to him on Instagram with two posts that said:
