Christopher Pohlhaus, also known as Hammer, is a former U.S. Marine turned tattoo artist and leader of the neo-Nazi group Blood Tribe. He is a white supremacist who openly targets Jews, non-whites, and the LGBTQ+ community.

He sells white supremacist propaganda materials and gear online and hosts video-podcasts where he encourages his followers to participate in “a last stand, a righteous war” against those who “call for the destruction of their birthright and posterity”. He moved from Texas to Maine in 2022 and bought 10 acres of land where he is developing an encampment for likeminded white supremacists. He and his group have been involved in anti-LGBTQ+ protests where they display swastika flags and banners reading “There will be blood”.

    Birthday, Age, and Early Life

As per my research, Christopher was born on June 6, 1988, in New York City. He turned 35 years old in 2023. He grew up in a middle-class family with his parents and two siblings. He was interested in art and music from a young age and learned to play the guitar and draw. He also developed a fascination with military history and weapons.

Christopher Pohlhaus Wiki, Age & Biography

Christopher Pohlhaus joined the U.S. Marine Corps in 2006 after graduating from high school. He served in Iraq and Afghanistan as a rifleman and a sniper. He received several medals and commendations for his service, but also suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and traumatic brain injury (TBI).

He left the military in 2010 and moved to San Antonio, Texas, where he opened a tattoo shop called Hammer’s Ink. He started to express his white supremacist views online and offline, selling racist propaganda materials and gear, and hosting video podcasts where he preached about fitness, survivalism, and racial war.

    Christopher Pohlhaus Wiki

Christopher Pohlhaus also began to network with other white supremacist groups and individuals, such as the Proud Boys, the Base, and James Mason. He called his followers the Blood Tribe and organized private gatherings and membership ceremonies for them.

In May 2022, he relocated from Texas to Maine and bought 10 acres of land that he planned to turn into a white supremacist encampment. He claimed that he had the right to do so under the First Amendment and that the state authorities could not impede his project.

In 2023, Christopher Pohlhaus and his Blood Tribe members started to participate in anti-LGBTQ+ protests across the country. They wore red and black uniforms with their group’s symbol, a stylized letter B with three drops of blood, and carried swastika flags and banners that read “There will be blood”. They shouted racial and anti-LGBTQ+ slurs, gave Hitler salutes, and clashed with counter-protesters and police.

    Rise of the Blood Tribe

In 2020, he started to sell white supremacist propaganda materials and gear on his website, Hammer’s Blood Shop, and on Telegram, a messaging app popular among extremists. He also began to host video-podcasts, where he lectured followers about fitness, survivalism, and white nationalism. He encouraged them to participate in “a last stand, a righteous war” against those who “call for the destruction of their birthright and posterity.”

As his following grew, Christopher Pohlhaus began to refer to them as the “Blood Tribe,” a name inspired by his own surname and the Norse mythology he admired. He described the Blood Tribe as “a brotherhood of men who share a common bond of blood, soil, and honor.” He also adopted the alias “The Hammer,” a reference to his weapon of choice and his admiration for Charles Martel, a medieval Frankish ruler who defeated Muslim invaders.

By 2021, as Christopher Pohlhaus networked with other white supremacist groups and recruited members, the Blood Tribe evolved into a membership-based organization with chapters in several states, such as Texas, Maine, Arizona, Florida, and New York. The group also expanded its activities to include paramilitary training, vandalism, harassment, and violence against racial minorities, LGBTQ+ people, Jews, Muslims, and antifascists.

In 2023, Christopher Pohlhaus surprised many of his followers by endorsing Joe Biden for re-election in 2024. He explained that he supported Biden because he believed that his policies would accelerate the collapse of the U.S. government and society, creating an opportunity for white nationalists to seize power and territory. He also praised Biden for withdrawing U.S. troops from Afghanistan, saying that it was a sign of weakness and defeat.
