Vatal Nagaraj (born May 29, 1940; Age: 82 years) is an Indian Politician who was a Member of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly from Chamarajanagar, Karnataka. He is also known as the president of the Kannada Chaluvali Vatal Paksha.

In 2017, Nagaraj protested against the words of a prominent South Indian actor, Sathyaraj, during the Cauvery Protest by Tamil Nadu Actors Association against Karnataka. He also protested against all who speak against Kannada, Karnataka. Later, the protest was called off.
In 2018, Vatal started a new agitation on January 25 for water sharing from the Mandovi River flowing from Goa. Some political critics question the genuineness of his fight against Goa State for water sharing when Vatal himself fight against the Tamil Nadu government for the Supreme court order to release water in the Cauvery River.
